tour #11

Fishing, pontooning, boat rentals, swimming, hiking and horseback trails, camping, a resort lodge and cabins are available at Burr Oak State Park, known as Ohio’s most remote and picturesque state park.  Forested hills surround serene Burr Oak Lake that meanders through rugged hills to Tom Jenkins Dan, following the pristine East Branch of Sunday Creek, the only freshwater in the region unaffected by mining,.
Located at the intersection of SR 78 & 13, Glouster features a spectacular community mural, restored train station and WPA era football stadium.

Nearby at Bishopville is Artistic Woodturning, where artist Doug Mooney (740-767-2411 for appt.) fashions a variety of bowls and other products from native hardwoods.  Follow the “Rim of The World”  from Bishopville on St. Rt. 78 East (Ohio Scenic By-Way) for breathtaking views of the landscape to the American Elm Workshop, the studio of German woodworker Wulf Reincke (740-557-3181 for appt.).
